Advanced Research Project at DiK

The focus of the Advanced Research Project is the independent processing of a scientific engineering task.

Semester: winter/summer semester
Start: upon agreement
Credit Points: 6 CP
Length of assignment: The total duration between the start of the assignment and the final presentation should not be less than 2 months and should not exceed 6 months.

The main focus of the advanced research project is the independent work of an engineering problem by a student. The student is coached by a research assistant of the DiK.

The scientific content worked out by the student have to be demonstrated in an interim and final presentation. In addition the student has to do a written report on his acitivities. After the start of the lecture period the individual available are presented in a introductory lecture.

For this purpose, the interfaces and information to be transmitted must be clearly described and standardized. In order to identify the relevant interfaces and to recognize dependencies, a taxonomy of mechanical engineering is required.
