Computer Aided Design (CAD)

The constructional education of students of mechanical engineering orientated fields of study is held as a required course completely with the help of modern 3D-CAD-Systems at the TU Darmstadt since 1995.

Additionally to a weekly one hour lecture of Prof. Dr.-Ing. R. Anderl there are coached exercises and tutorials with the volume of three hours per week.

Within the lecture, in addition to the focus of 3D-CAD techniques (Siemens PLM Software NX 11.0), basic knowledge in product data management (Teamcenter 11) as well as the procedures of creating freehand sketches and technical product documentation is provided. Furthermore the students learn the elementary DIN-/ISO standards and accumulate team experiences by solving an engineering problem in team orientated work, which is very important for a modern engineer. All necessary documents and information are offered on the learning platform Moodle.

In order to participate, a registration via the IiM Homepage between Thursday 04.02.2019; 10:00 and Friday 29.03.2019; 14:00 is necessary.

The registration can be made individually or as a team (with max. 6 students). Please read the information on the registration page.

Without this registration for the CAD exercise, participation in the CAD course is NOT possible!
