Martin Wende studied Mechanical and Process Engineering (MPE) at Technische Universität Darmstadt until 2018. His Master’s thesis focused on the simulative analysis of the impact of operation mode switches of an active, hybrid truck steering system on the driving dynamics.

In October 2018, he joined the Department of Computer Integrated Design as a research assistant.

Since the winter semester 2018/19 he works at the department’s training center “Informationsverarbeitung im Maschinenbau” (IiM) and supports the lecture “Information and communication technology in mechanical engineering” (IKT). In addition, he organizes the accompanying tutorial “Programming Languages and Techniques” (PST) where student learn to handle data structures and algorithms using the programming language MATLAB..

In 2019, he redesigned the programming education of the DiK to add Python as an additional programming language to the curriculum.

Since 2019, he is also supervising the tutorial Advanced CAx mit CATIA V6

The joint project “AI-In-Orbit-Factory” focuses on the exploration and development of basic concepts for the in-orbit production of small satellites based on the integration of artificial intelligence methods. The project is funded by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi). The Technical University of Darmstadt, the Technical University of Munich and the Center for Telematics (ZfT) in Würzburg are involved in AI-In-Orbit-Factory.

The DiK with Martin Wende as research associate designs a digital process twin in AI-In-Orbit-Factory for the holistic monitoring and control of the activities of the In-Orbit production. This twin enables the interaction of all process participants by using AI methods and enables automated and optimized assembly and test procedures.
