How to get to Darmstadt by car
Via A 5 or A67
You can reach Darmstadt by car via the A5 or A67 at the motorway interchange Darmstädter Kreuz.
Take the exit Darmstadt Stadtmitte and follow the direction signs to TU Lichtwiese.
Having arrived at TU Lichtwiese turn left at the bus stop. The Mechanical Engineering building will be directly in front of you. The department DiK is located on the ground floor, on the right side directly behind the red cogwheel.
Via A 3
Arriving via motorway A3, you take the exit for motorway B45 towards Dieburg.
At Dieburg you will have to change for motorway B26 which will take you to Darmstadt.
Keep left towards TU Lichtwiese when entering the city.
Take a turn left into Eugen-Kogon-Straße at the first intersection.
On the campus turn left at the bus stop, the mechanical engineering building is straight ahead of you. The Department for Computer Integrated Design is located on the ground floor, on the right side directly behind the red cogwheel.
Public Transport from Frankfurt Airport
The nearest airport is Frankfurt/Main. There is a bus line (AirLiner) connecting the airport to Darmstadt central station. The AirLiner leaves at:
- Terminal 1, Area B, Bus Stop 14
- Directly in front of Terminal 2.
It is a 30 minute ride to Darmstadt central station.

Arrival by public transport
At the central station take bus line K to the terminal stop TU Lichtwiese/Mensa. The ride will take about 20 minutes. Usage of bus line KU from the center of Darmstadt to terminal stop TU Lichtwiese/Mensaon days of lectures at TU Darmstadt is also possible.
Across the bus stop TU Lichtwiese/Mensa you will see the auditorium and library building. If you walk through that building, the Mechanical Engineering building will be right ahead of you. The department DiK is located on the ground floor, on the right side directly behind the red cogwheel.
Ab Darmstadt Hbf fährt die Buslinie K und ab Stadtmitte (Haltestelle Luisenplatz oder Schloss) die Linie KU (an Vorlesungstagen der TU Darmstadt) direkt zur Endstation TU Lichtwiese. Die Fahrzeit ab Darmstadt Hbf beträgt 20 Minuten.
