Research Seminar at DiK
Semester: winter/summer semester
Start: 28.10.2010 18:00 Uhr
Location: L1 | 01 501
Length of time: 4-6 months (with lectures)
The main focus of the research seminar is the independant work of an engineering problem by a student. The student is coached by a research assistant of the DiK.
The scientific content worked out by the student have to be demonstrated in an interim and final presentation. In addtion the student has to do a written report on his acitivities. After the start of the lecture period the individual available are presented in a introductory lecture.
Interested Students are requested to contact Dipl.-Ing. Roland Nattermann with the favorized topic.

Implementation possibilities and potentials of the light-weighted JT file format for visualizing 3D product data
With the light-weighted JT (Jupiter Tesselation) file format from Siemens, 3D product data can be visualized promptly, easily and cost-effectively. The neutral format enables the integration of multiple CAD- and PLM-systems. Next to the visualization, collaborative work and accelerated data exchange are at the forefront.
The file format JT has been approved as international standard by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). As JT has already been established de facto in many areas of industry, a diversity of implementation possibilities has been opened. go

Analysis and valuation of the use of different 3D visualization formats
3D visualization formats are becoming more and more important in the industry, yet their fields of application have not been described conclusively. With the intuitive 3D representation and the incorporation of „Product and Manufacturing Information“ (PMI), 3D visualization formats could replace technical drawing in all phases of product life cycle. go

Smart Engineering for Smart Products in Context of Smart Factories
The extension of traditional products in web-enabled communications interfaces to cyber-physical systems, depicts part of the 4th industrial revolution. The development leads to intelligent, autonomous, partially adaptive products, the so called Smart Products. The networking of these Smart Products steer in the area of production to the Smart Factories. go

Presentation of work plans in the federative factory data management
The federative factory data management integrates the product, process and resource data of the domain specific and mostly isolated IT-tools from the “product development”, “factory planning”, “product process planning” as well as “resource planning” areas. At DiK, two prototypical software implementations have already been realized: the FFDM-Browser and the Mobile-FFDM-App. go
